Pigeon Forge is the main gateway to the half million acre wilderness preserve of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are only 5 miles from Gatlinburg and 35 miles southeast of Knoxville making Pigeon Forge Tennessee extremely accessible to most. Pigeon Forge Tennessee lies at the base of the Smoky Mountains in the eastern part of the state and is surrounded by the natural beauty of the outdoors. Action-packed entertainment, candid grace and old-fashion mountain hospitality make Pigeon Forge a great holiday destination. Every year millions of tourists head to Pigeon Forge Tennessee to enjoy music, events, local attractions and the good old outdoors.

There are over 13 great Pigeon Forge campgrounds to stay at in the area. Some are closer to the highway than others and most offer pretty great amenities. KOA campground is just minutes from the Smoky Mountains and offers amenities such as free Wi–Fi access, hot showers, heated pool, hot tub, store and souvenir shop, playground courtesy phones and cabin rentals. Most Pigeon Forge campgrounds close to many attractions such as Dollywood, the Dixie Stampede, and Ripley’s Aquarium

Clabough’s Campground and RV Resort has full hook-ups and shaded sites. Amenities include swimming pools, double laundry facilities, large on site shop, deli, arcade and a gas station. Clabough’s is also close to many attractions yet is far enough off the parkway that the setting is quiet and peaceful. The resort also provides log cabin and vacation home rentals that sleep up to 6 people.

Eagle’s Nest Campground is open year-round and offers 250 sites to choose from for the true campers.  Amenities include full hook-ups, pool, a playground with horseshoes and volleyball, a recreation room, laundry, bathhouses and partially furnished cabins. Stream fishing is close by as well as many other attractions.

Pigeon Forge campgrounds offer some of the best camping spots in the area with lots of amenities to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. The campgrounds are close to all the attractions.  Camping is a good alternative to hotels in the warm summer months and even the spring and fall are also great times of year to camp.  It may be a little cool in the early mornings and evenings but the foliage will be breathtaking.. Camping is a great way to get the family outdoors and explore the natural surroundings of the Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountain Park.
