Meigs Falls in the Smoky Mountains

Located on the on the right side of Little River Road, about 13 miles from Gatlinburg. From downtown Gatlinburg, turn right at Sugarland Visitor Center onto Little River Road and watch for the pull-off. One of three waterfalls easily accessible from the road. Autumn with it's spectacular fall colors provides a natural frame around the falls.

Meigs Falls in the Smoky Mountains One of three waterfalls easily accessible from the road. Autumn with it's spectacular fall colors provides a natural frame around the falls. Meigs Falls sits approximately 300 feet off of the road, however the cascades are large enough to be seen clearly from the pull-off. Meigs Falls has several levels before its 28 ft. drop over the sandstone floor, providing a beautiful sight to see with the conveniences of never leaving your car. Photo Courtesy of Bill Priest
On a personal note: Upon our first visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, on a spectacular day with the sun shining through the trees and the Little River waters glistening, we were directed to Meigs Falls by a local resident. The combination of the sounds of the water cascading over the falls, the birds singing and the views of the Smokies created a memorable day to not be forgotten!
